Through suspension of the noise of everyday (productive) life and through putting the exemplary on the table, the teacher establishes a possibility for att ention and interest. This definition of the core of schooling has been gaining ground in the philosophy of education in recent years, and here, for the first time, the reading of exemplarity in connection with suspension is presented in a Danish context.
